KPN to upgrade to all IP network
KPN is planning to switch to an all IP network before the year 2010. For the coming five years, KPN is to upgrade its network to cope with the increasing demand for bandwidth and to reduce costs, but also to become more flexible to implement and launch new services. Based on the test results of the VDSL-trial in Zoetemeer, KPN will make a decision in the third quarter of next year on the full IP roll-out, and roll-out speed in the period 2006-2010.
Lucent gaining momentum behind IMS
The company has landed BellSouth, SBC and Cingular Wireless as customers for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) products and services. IMS is an architecture for next-generation telecom networks that supports voice, video and data integration over wireline and wireless networks, with service from any digital interface - desktop PCs to mobile handsets

BT Guru Picks Holes in NGNs
Addressing an International Telecommunication Union meeting in London today, Reeve, a key figure in the development of BT's 21st Century Network (21CN), praised the ITU for its role in bringing together the work of many different groups around the world and delivering a unified vision of what an NGN should look like and deliver.
