Embarq is introducing its Smart Connect service to more markets. The service, which allows calls to move between a business’ wireless and wireline networks without interruptions, is now available in Fayetteville, N.C.; Ft. Myers, Fla.; and Mansfield, Ohio. Those markets are in addition to service in Charlottesville, Va.; Las Vegas; and Orlando, Fla.
But it doesn’t stop with the wireless/wireline connection. With Smart Connect Plus, calls can automatically move between the Embarq wireless network and the on-premise Wi-Fi network, whichever is strongest, without manual transfer of the call. For businesses, that means reducing their costs of using the wireless network.
