KPN plans to replace PSTN with IMS

KPN of The Netherlands has selected Lucent Technologies to supply an IMS platform that the vendor says will replace the operators public switched telephone network (PSTN). Lucent will also manage the deployment and integration of KPN's multi-vendor, all-IP next generation network based on an IMS service architecture.
